SFMI Waitemata Family/Whanau Support Group

Inviting families/Whanau from Waitakere, North Shore & Rodney.

Supporting Families provides a safe place for family, whanau and friends of people affected by mental health problems. Have the opportunity to share your experience, gain practical resources and strategies, and hear from guest speakers with mental health expertise.

Every 2nd Tuesday of the month

Empathy Support Group - A support group for people who have lost family and friends to suicide.

We offer an opportunity to share ideas and coping skills with others, in a caring, respectful and confidential environment.
Join us on a journey of learning to understand the process of grief, to find inner peace and hope for the future.

Recovery Solutions Family/Whanau & Carers Daytime Support Group

For all family/whanau and carers who support persons with mental illness.

When: Weekly on Tuesdays, every week unless advised.

Where: Recovery Solutions, North West Mobile Services

Why: To Listen, Learn, Share, experiences in a safe confidential environment. We also have Speakers & Educational DVD’s This is a very informal group, however we also have information evenings quarterly. If you would like more information on these please contact me on the details below.

Bereaved by Suicide?

WAVES is a bereaved by suicide group.

This grief education is for adults (17 years and over) who have been affected by the suicide of someone they know.

This community group allows members to:

  • share their thoughts and feelings around what's happened
  • discuss the nature of suicide
  • gain information and ideas about how to care for themselves and others afrer a suicide, including children and young people.

The group is facilitated by professional counsellors and educators and it runs over 8 weeks.
